Portable Learning

To computer addicts, laptops are the first and last image the pops up their minds when they hear the term versatile computing. I also think so, because notebooks can do everything that an ordinary desktop computer can do, and side from that there are highly portable. This character of an enticing concoction of computing prowess and mobility has rocketed notebooks into a sky high role in business firms and educational institutions. I heard of a guy who has a wide breadth of knowledge on technology said that he wants every pupil to have their own laptops as an ideal classroom tool just like textbooks and blackboards and this vision can happen within two to five years. I think this vision is already being practice in some parts of the royal kingdom of England. The portability aspect of the tool is deemed important in extending and intensifying learning and studying habits of students in schools and homes. Professors in those school said that learning is something that can occur anytime and anywhere; and with the idea of a notebook for every student gives them the complaisance of studying and working whenever they want. Anyway, the guy who coined this idea which was adopted by schools administrators today is none other than business magnate and President Bill Gates.

However, there are some teachers who banned laptops in schools because instead of being an exclusive educational aid, students use it during playtime as well which trigger the crashing of the machines because of the numerous downloading and incompatibility aspects. But there are some who noted that having laptops in schools had made a significant positive impact on student learning and changed the classroom atmosphere. I just hope that as we use laptops for learning, we should still not disregard the use of our immortal books since not all information is found in the World Wide Web.
